The tweet read "[h]ow does it help global warming to buy oil from Russia instead of drilling American oil." MRCTV captioned the post saying "Why we have high gas prices: Joe Biden killed American energy independence. Learn more in our mini-documentary: https://rumble.com/vr2mjl-killing-keystone-how-biden-and..." Facebook claimed that the post was "missing context" and cited an AFP fact-check article that conflated the term "energy independence" with "energy isolation." MRC Free Speech America's research found that other experts and even other fact-checkers openly disagreed with AFP's evaluation of energy independence.
