TikTok removes a Gandhi quote for violating community guidelines: An X user shared a screenshot of a censorship notice she received from TikTok. She had posted a comment on the communist Chinese platform that read "'I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ. - Mahatma Gandhi.'" The message indicated that the comment "is against [TikTok's] Community Guidelines," but did not explain what the violation was. It is possible that the comment was removed because of a misattribution. According to Snopes, there is much disagreement on who actually said the quote, and there is no authoritative source linking it directly to Gandhi. However, Snopes also noted that attributions to Gandhi go back to the 1930s. It would be a stretch if this is in fact what led TikTok to remove the comment.
