Catherine Herridge Reports

YouTube search bans interview with Secretary of State Marco Rubio: Former senior investigative correspondent for CBS News and former chief intelligence correspondent for Fox News Channel Catherine Herridge posted to her Catherine Herridge Reports YouTube channel a full, unedited video of her 45-minute interview with Secretary of State Marco Rubio that touched on a list of different topics related to his first 30 days in his new role under President Donald Trump. However, one day after it was posted, attempts to locate the video using YouTube's search feature did not easily find it. If a user typed in the full title of the episode, "Exclusive: First 30 Days With Secretary of State Marco Rubio," the video was the second result shown, behind a "Middle East Eye" video titled "Who is Marco Rubio? Trump's new secretary of state." However, using the more likely search terms "Marco Rubio Catherine Herridge interview" did not return the video at all. The first result shown by Google-owned YouTube was a 2-minute clip from the video posted by a channel called "Focus on Iran" that has fewer subscribers than Herridge's channel. Removing the world "interview" from the search terms produced the same results. These results indicate that YouTube is search suppressing the video, although the reasoning for such action is unclear.
