Instagram censors account featuring gun content: A firearms-centric social account run by Chris Gomez called The TN Pickers was censored by Instagram. The account is being search suppressed by Instagram, which means the account can only be found on Instagram's search feature when a user puts in the entire channel name, "thetnpickersshow." Unlike any other search, where partial search terms produce a list of possible results, no results are shown until the entire channel name is put in the search box. Additionally, Gomez posted a screenshot indicating that the account was being suppressed. The notice he received from Instagram indicated "Your account can't be shown to non-followers. Your account activity may not follow our Recommendations Guidelines. What this means. Your account and content won't appear in places like Explore, Search, Suggested Users, Reels, and Feed Recommendations." The notice then instructed Gomez that he could edit or remove two posts that the platform found to be violative. It is unclear whether the suppression is still ongoing, as his account can be found in search if the whole name is used, and other suppression tactics are not easily checked.
