X CEO Elon Musk appeared on Monday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience to slam the Democratic Party for becoming a censorship regime.

Musk warned a Harris administration would clamp down on social media platforms in particular, X. “If [Vice President Kamala Harris] wins, we’ll see that boycott get stronger, and they’ll freaking shut it down,” he warned podcast host Joe Rogan. “There’s no way a Kamala puppet regime would allow X to exist.”

Musk’s fear is not unwarranted, given current presidential nominee Harris’s notorious call to regulate social media platforms and their content.

Musk reflected on the Democrat Party disavowing freedom of speech in favor of its new obsession with censorship. “The left …  was the free speech party, and now it’s the anti-free speech party,” he said.

“There's been all these attacks on the Constitution, especially on the Democrat side,” he said earlier in the interview, referring to anti-free speech comments by high-ranking members of the Democrat Party.

Some of the recent calls for censorship and regulation Musk and Rogan referred to came from former Secretary of State John Kerry and two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton

During a World Economic Forum discussion, Kerry stated, “[O]ur First Amendment stands as a major block to be able to just, you know, hammer [disinformation] out of existence.” Clinton, called for social media companies to be held responsible for content. “If they don’t moderate and monitor content, we lose total control.”, We need to have regulation.”

Recent research by MRC has revealed a startling trend of 21st-century presidential nominees openly attacking the First Amendment by advocating for censorship.

Musk emphasized the importance of the First Amendment. “There's a reason for the First Amendment, freedom of speech,” he continued. “The reason the Founders of the country put freedom of speech there is because they came from countries where if you spoke your mind, you’d get shot or imprisoned.”

Musk and Rogan then juxtaposed the evolving threat of censorship by the government and Silicon Valley tech giants with Musk’s milestone purchase of Twitter.
Musk discussed the reasoning behind his purchase of Twitter. “There was massive government interference in Twitter, but Twitter welcomed it,” he said, referring to the Twitter files. “Old Twitter was controlled by far-left activists and they welcomed government interference.”
