After Facebook censors charity, and later reinstates it, Instagram follows suit with its own removal of the group from its platform: A nonprofit that volunteers with other charities by dressing up as children's characters was taken off Facebook after the social media company began purging its platform of groups, pages and accounts believed to be "anarchist groups that support violent acts amidst protests." This reportedly happened due to the closeness of the nonprofit's name to a purported nationalist militia. Facebook eventually reinstated the nonprofit's account, along with the accounts of its administrators that it had also taken down, but Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, has now deleted the nonprofit's account as well, according to The Federalist. The groups administrators have reached out to Instagram but have yet to receive an explanation.
