Instagram disables Sig Sauer's shooting community page: According to screenshots posted by gun manufacturer Sig Sauer, Instagram temporarily disabled an account it had made for its "new shooting community." "SHOOT SIG is a series of competitive shooting events we've designed to be a safe, fun, easy way to get to the range, increase your skills and encourage firearms safety," according to the official X account for the manufacturer. The Instagram account created for this community was found on Instagram @shootsig.sigsauer. The purported screenshots showed that Instagram notified the manufacturer that the account had been reviewed and found to be in violation of the platform's "Community Guidelines." Instagram therefore disabled the account. Upon submitting an appeal, however, the account was restored the next day. Instagram noted "We reviewed your account and found that the activity on it does follow our Community Guidelines on account integrity and authentic identity," although it is unclear what had initially triggered the action.
