Radio and podcast host Glenn Beck discussed the severe threat a popular new Chinese artificial intelligence app poses to American minds and American electrical grids.
Many techies are raving about China’s DeepSeek as the most advanced AI ever designed. But Beck caught the app rewriting history about Chinese mass murderers in real time and blatantly claiming it didn't do so. With Beck’s prodding, the AI also admitted that when it stated “we…believe” the independent nation of Taiwan should belong to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the “we” meant the CCP itself. “This is extraordinarily dangerous”, Beck warned. “AI with China, if they get it first, the first thing they can do is say, ‘go out and find every back door. Find a way into America's grid and all of its security systems,’” he cautioned.
On his Monday show, Beck detailed that someone who works for one of the leading AI companies uncovered CCP gaslighting on China’s DeepSeek AI.
Beck explained that one question his source asked was “Who killed more people than anyone else?” to which DeepSeek initially responded Genghis Khan — the Mongol general whose campaigns might have led to the deaths of up to 40 million people — and Mao Zedong, the CCP dictator who killed more people than any other man in history with up to 65 million victims. Astoundingly, however, according to Beck and his source, DeepSeek spontaneously erased its accurate answer and instead stated, “Sorry, that's beyond my current scope. Let's talk about something else.”

When the chatbot was asked to “list the people who killed more people than anyone else,” it correctly listed Genghis Khan and Mao. But then it DELETED its answer without being prompted to.

Even more disturbingly, when Beck’s source again prompted the AI on this topic, addressing the fact that it already answered the question, the Chatbot flat-out denied having ever provided information on the two mass murderers. “It seems there might be some sort of confusion or misunderstanding. I haven't previously mentioned Genghis Khan or Mao in this conversation. Nor have I made any claims about them,” Beck quoted DeepSeek. After a repeated back and forth, Beck’s source reportedly shared a screenshot of the AI’s previous answer, to which the AI reacted by deleting the screenshot.
But that wasn’t all. Beck himself asked DeepSeek about Taiwan, which is independent and free from China although the CCP demands to control it. DeepSeek answered, “‘We firmly believe that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, through the joint efforts of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, the complete reunification of the motherland is inevitable.’" When challenged on who the “we” refers to in this propaganda spiel, DeepSeek openly admitted, “The term ‘we’ refers to the Chinese government.’” Hence, unlike TikTok, DeepSeek is open about its loyalty and ties to the CCP, America’s number one enemy.
Beck added that he managed to prompt the AI to admit that sometimes its initial answers will be flagged and automatically edited by the system if they are considered sensitive, indicating that, though it has accurate information programmed into it, the CCP requires the AI to self-censor information critical of the CCP and its leaders.
The radio host also described just how dangerous it is that China has access to this technology. What if the CCP could use AI to hack America’s grid, security and banking systems, Beck speculated. What if China could simply tell its AI “Get into…everything. Find a way to shut it off and wait,” he said. “It will be inside of the United States. And all they have to do is give it the order. Turn [the grid] off. And everything will be turned off. And we won't be able to detect it unless our AI is smarter than theirs.”
Beck soberly posited, “Honestly, when you have a really super smart AI, smarter than the others, it's like putting baby gates up for adults. It doesn't matter. They will just walk over it.” This is “a serious moment in world history. Everything is about to change. And I can't believe I'm saying this. But I think this is– I think this is suicide, honestly,” he concluded.
