Facebook censors amusing post about horse shelter permits: Young Americans for Liberty (YAL), a "pro-liberty organization on America's college campuses," posted a meme image to its Facebook page that showed some horses standing in a field under a very large table and chairs. The text on the meme read "This farm owner was denied a council permit to build a horse shelter. Fortunately, you don't need a permit to build a table and chairs." YAL added, "What a nice table." Facebook applied a fact-check label to the post calling it "partly false." The fact-check label referred to two different fact-check articles, from Check Your Fact and Lead Stories. According to the fact-checking articles, the farm owner, located in Germany, was never denied a permit, but did state when asked that they chose to build the shelter in the form of a table because that would skirt the regulations. Lead Stories noted, however, that farm owners would not be subject to the regulation requiring a permit for a shelter, and claimed the meme was "not true."
