Facebook refused to boost a post that the platform suggested that the user attempt to boost: Facebook suggested that Word Foundations a blog that discusses topics about Christianity, social issues, and politics, boost one of its Facebook posts captioned "One Hundred Words Against Socialism," according to screenshots posted on the user's blog. The post gave a brief explanation of how the Jamestown and Plymouth settlements were on "the brink of starvation" under a socialist distribution of food and land and that free enterprise allowed both settlements to succeed. The page administrator's screenshots show that when the he the content before posting, Facebook added an option to boost the post with a banner that read: "Get more reactions, comments and shares with an ad like this. Boost Post." The user attempted to boost the post but Facebook rejected the request due to its added requirements for "Ads about Social Issues, Elections or Politics," according to screenshots. The platform explained to her user, "[y]our ad may have been rejected because it mentions politicians or is about sensitive social issues that could influence public opinion, how people vote and may impact the outcome of an election or pending legislation." The user requested a review but Facebook rejected his request once again soon after.
