YouTube restricts ads on a video reviewing negative fan reaction to the newest Star Wars show: A YouTube channel known as Star Wars Theory uploaded a video that discussed the growing fan dissatisfaction with the latest Star Wars show called The Acolyte. The episode was titled "The Fans Are Finally Uniting After The Acolyte - Just Look at This." According to a purported screenshot the host shared on his X account, YouTube decided that the video "isn't suitable for all advertisers," but did not explain why. YouTube explained that the "video remains playable and is still eligible to earn subscription revenue from YouTube Premium." However, "it will continue to run limited or no ads" after YouTube "manually review[ed]" the video following an appeal. After the user tagged the YouTube support accounts in his post on X, the @TeamYouTube account responded to let him know that the action was taken because his thumbnail contained a profane word that was in a user comment about the show that he was displaying on his screen, while other X users pointed out that this is not a consistently applied standard.
