Capital One bank accused of cancelling Trump Organization bank accounts over Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol protests: According to reporting from the New York Times, the Trump Organization has filed a lawsuit against Capital One bank alleging that over 300 bank accounts belonging to the organization and its various employees were closed with no valid reason. The lawsuit further alleges that the accounts were closed because of political bias against the Trump family and administration in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol protests. Capital One, according to the New York Times, denies that the account closures, which occurred in June of 2021, were politically motivated.
