Software company Asana denies its nonprofit discount to Holy Sexuality because it is a religious nonprofit: Christian-based nonprofit Holy Sexuality sought to obtain a license to use Asana's project management software in order to be more efficient in its operations. Asana advertised a 50% lifetime discount for nonprofit organizations. However, when Holy Sexuality, a registered 501(c)3 organization, applied for this discount using the appropriate form, Asana denied the discount based on its "Religious Discrimination Policy," "which refuses to provide the discount to any '[r]eligious organizations that exist to solely propagate a belief in a specific faith." The ministry has filed a lawsuit against the software company alleging violation of California's Unruh Civil Rights Act.
