It is fairly common for Twitter to censor or flag conservative content it deems offensive. Now, the platform has decided that a video discussing Christian love and truth constitutes sensitive material.
Twitter placed an interstitial, or filter, on a video that former NFL quarterback and Christian icon Tim Tebow posted to the platform on Sunday morning. The interstitial claimed the video contained “potentially sensitive content.”
The video itself consisted of Tebow discussing the importance of speaking the truth in love. “A lot of people will talk about love and truth,” he said, “but it’s so important because as believers, we have to be able to understand how to share both of them.”
It appears as though the interstitial appears for users who have the “sensitive content” filter applied to their account, but it may not appear for those who do not.
This is not the first time that Twitter has gone after Tebow for professing his faith. Another video of his was censored in July. Earlier this month, Twitter flagged a satirical video tweeted by President Donald Trump parodying the Biden “Despacito” disaster. Twitter also censored another tweet from the president. The tweet urged North Carolina voters to confirm that their votes are counted in the upcoming election.
