Instagram fact-checked the video, noting "Fact check: False claim Biden administration wants to ban gas stoves." The fact-check linked to a USA Today fact-check article that quoted White House Press Secretary Karinne Jean-Pierre stating "'The president does not support banning gas stoves,' she said in response to a question about whether the president was worried about the climate impact of gas stoves. 'And the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which is independent, is not banning gas stoves.  So, I just want to be very clear on that.'" It has since come to light that Jean-Pierre's statement was disingenuous at best, given later reporting on proposed regulations and studies being conducted by two different administrative branches.
