Facebook posts claiming Derek Chauvin did not receive fair trial throttled by fact-check: Several Facebook posts arguing the trial of former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin was unfair have received a fact-check from USA Today. The fact-check argues the claim is misleading, and the posts' exposure on social media has been throttled as a result. The fact-check directly refutes a post from Students for Trump co-founder Ryan Fournier, in which he shared an image with text juxtaposed that said, “Mob rule is not justice” set against a black background. He added the caption “Derek Chauvin did not get a fair trial” alongside the post. The fact-check argued that all characteristics of an unfair trial had been properly adjudicated, and asserted that since USA Today's own experts argued the trial was fair, it was indeed fair. An article written by The Federalist's Joy Pullmann also received the same fact-check.
