Facebook deletes "network of accounts" tied to German anti-lockdown movement: Facebook has banned "a network of accounts, Pages and Groups operated by individuals associated with the Querdenken movement in Germany." Querdenken translated means "lateral thinking." The German movement is known for its activism against COVID-19 lockdowns, mask wearing rules, vaccine mandates and other COVID-19 measures imposed on individuals by government officials. “This network consistently violated our Community Standards against harmful health misinformation, incitement of violence, bullying, harassment and hate speech,” Facebook wrote in a blog post announcing a new policy against "coordinated social harm." The new policy is expected to lower the bar for who can be banned from the platform. It was reported that in total approximately 150 accounts, Pages and Groups associated with the Querdenken movement were removed by Facebook.
