Pop Base

X community adds a context note to user's post: An X account known as Pop Base posted "Kensington Palace has released the first official photo of Kate Middleton since her abdominal surgery." The post included the now infamous image of Middleton with her three children on Mother's Day in the UK. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Several major news agencies, including the Associated Press and Reuters have retracted the shared photo of Princess Kate with her three children, due to inconsistencies indicating digital alterations by Kensington Palace, requesting its removal. abcnews.go.com/GMA/Culture/pr… x.com/Reuters/status…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
