Twitter community adds a context note to Politico tweet: Politico tweeted, "Nazi-linked veteran received ovation during Zelenskyy’s Canada visit." The tweet included a link to the Politico article about this incident. Twitter added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know." The added context read "Yaroslav Hunka was not just 'linked' to the Nazis, he was literally part of the German-Nazi military serving as a Waffen-SS soldier. This group was declared a criminal organization by the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg in 1946,” and linked to a Wikipedia article about the Waffen-SS. The label is part of Twitter’s Community Notes system. Twitter users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to tweets.
