Twitter community adds a context note to a PCMag tweet: PCMag posted a tweet saying “X will begin to have users verify their identity by having them submit a selfie alongside a government issued ID. The process requires users to consent to X storing their information for 30 days and sharing it with AU10TIX, an identity verification company based in Israel.” Twitter added a Community Note warning label to the post that read: “ID verification is going to be an optional layer of verification for X Blue users. This is not going to affect non-Blue users in any way." The note additionally included a link to an article from Social Media Today.
