Facebook flagged a graphic of Kevin Sorbo poking fun at the left's transgender narrative: Actor Kevin Sorbo made a tweet that read: "'Can I drive your car. [sic]' No you're 5[.] 'Can I have a beer? No you're 5[.] 'Can I have a cigarette?' No you're 5[.] 'Can I take hormones and change my gender?' Of Course! You know what's best." The Media Research created an Instagram post featuring Sorbo's tweet. The platform flagged the post claiming that "[t]he same false information was reviewed in another post by fact-checkers" and that "[i]ndependent fact-checkers say this information has no basis in fact." PolitiFact's fact check of the post argued that "No, young children cannot take hormones or change their sex." It claimed that "professional medical organizations recommend against puberty blockers for children who have not reached puberty" and that hormone treatment "is typically not considered until patients are at least 16 years old." Posts that have been fact-checked lose exposure on Facebook as they are negatively affected by the platform's algorithm.
