X community adds a context note to Mario Nawfal post: Political commentator Mario Nawfal posted a response to a White House statement on the Houthi attacks, saying "STATMENT [sic] FROM DEMOCRATIC MEMBER OF US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE VALERIE HOWELL ON HOUTHI ATTACKS: 'These air strikes on Yemen were not authorized by Congress. The Constitution is clear that Congress is the only authority that allows military intervention in foreign conflicts. Every president must first come to Congress and request military authorization, regardless of which party he belongs.'" The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The President has the power to use the armed forces in response to an attack on the armed forces. Houthis launched a missile attack against US and UK ships. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized.
