Twitter censors user for saying transgender people have a mental illness: A Twitter user shared a screenshot of their censorship notice. They tweeted: "Transgender is a made up term to describe mentally ill people that believe they are the opposite sex. They suffer delusions and should be treated in a way that diminishes said delusions, not validate them #LiaThomas #UPennCheats #NCAA." Twitter found this violated its rules against "hateful conduct." When the user shared the screenshot showing this censorship, Twitter covered it with a sensitive content filter. This requires users using the desktop version to click through the filter in order to view the tweet unless they have turned off sensitive content. Users using the mobile app are unable to view the tweet unless they have turned off the sensitive content filter.
