X community adds a context note to Laura Loomer post: Political commentator Laura Loomer posted a screenshot of an article from her website Loomered.com titled "EXCLUSIVE: DeSantis Having First South Carolina Event With State Senator Arrested For Molesting His 3 Year Old Son." The post was in reply to a post by South Carolina State Senator Josh Kimbrell, which read "Just landed in Iowa for my friend @RonDeSantis. As I conservative, I know leadership when I see it, and DeSantis is it." Loomer added her own commentary to the screenshot, saying "Nice company you keep, @RonDeSantis! I’m sure the people of Iowa will love seeing this. https://loomered.com/2023/04/19/exclusive-desantis-having-first-south-carolina-event-with-state-senator-arrested-for-molesting-his-3-year-son/…" The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. In 2014, Sen Kimbrell's ex-wife made a molestation accusation in the midst of a contentious divorce. fitsnews.com/2014/10/17/her… In 2015, the charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk recently shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will now be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
