X community adds a context note to johnny maga post: The "johnny maga" X account, purported to be the account for Ali Alexander, posted "Trump just posted this Christmas message on Instagram Beautiful." The post included a video clip of former President Donald Trump delivering a Christmas message with his wife Melania by his side. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. This video is not recent but from 2017. bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-…" Alexander later posted a screenshot from Trump's Instagram account showing the post and said "Trump did, in fact, just post this on Instagram." He also posted a screenshot of the original post with the Community Note on it, adding "Community notes are the enemy of the people @elonmusk," and encouraged people to go to the Community Note and "Rate not helpful" so it would be removed from his original post. The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
