Twitter removes clip of NBC newscaster pointing to Uyghur Muslim Olympians as proof that the CCP is not committing genocide: Jackson Richman, a contributor to Mediaite and The Washington Examiner, tweeted a video clip from the 2022 Winter Olympics opening ceremony. In the clip, NBC's Savannah Guthrie called the participation of an alleged Uyghur Muslim athlete “an in-your-face response to those Western nations, including the U.S., who have called this Chinese treatment of that group genocide and diplomatically boycotted these games.” Twitter removed the video due to an alleged copyright claim. It is unclear whether or not this clip would fall under Fair Use clause allowances, but it is possible that the removal was politically or ideologically based.
