Facebook disables ad account of conservative children's book publisher: Facebook disabled the ads account of conservative children's book publisher Heroes of Liberty when it attempted to run a Christmas ad for a three-book set. The set featured books about former president Ronald Reagan, author Thomas Sowell and Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett. Facebook removed the ad and, when the publisher appealed the decision, Facebook responded claiming: "This ad account, its ads and some of its advertising assets are disabled because it didn't comply with our policy on Low Quality or Disruptive Content," according to screenshots published by Fox News. Fox reported that the platform sent Heroes of Liberty a second message doubling down on the ad ban. "'After a final review of this ad account, we confirmed it didn't comply with our Advertising Policies or other standards,' the message reads. 'You can no longer advertise with this ad account and its ads and assets will remain disabled. This is our final decision.'" The publisher can no longer "create or run ads," "use or share audiences," "use Facebook pixel, offline event sets or custom conversions," or "use app SDKs to send app events."

UPDATE: Meta spokesperson Andy Stone responded to a tweet about the disabled account claiming "This should not have happened. It was an error and the ad account's been restored." Heroes of Liberty editor Bethany Mandel tweeted that she was never notified by Facebook directly but that the account "looks restored, for now."
