X community adds a context note to an Edmunds post: Automotive information source Edmunds posted "No Tesla has ever met its EPA-estimated range in our real-world testing, and now the Cybertruck falls short of Tesla's own 340-mile estimate –– just." The post included a link to an Edmunds article about the range tests it conducted on the Cybertruck. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The article claims that the truck tested failed to meet the 340mi range advertised, but Edmunds tested the truck in a configuration that is advertised at 318mi and their testing showed that it exceeded this range. twitter.com/niccruzpatane/…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
