X community adds a context note to Dean Phillips's post: Democratic challenger for President Dean Phillips posted "As the ONLY one of 535 in Congress who refuses money from: 1. PACs 2. Lobbyists 3. Members of Congress, and 4. Has no Leadership PAC (politician slush fund) I cannot be bought. And anyone who might even attempt to do so will learn a hard and very public lesson." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Dean Phillips' presidential campaign does have a Super PAC even though as a congressman he did not accept PAC campaign donations. startribune.com/complaint-alle…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
