X community adds a context note to Daily Mail post: The X account for Daily Mail Online posted "Four teenagers including high school football star aged 14 to 16 are killed in horror crash after cop cruiser used PIT maneuver to stop them speeding at 111mph - as horrifying photos show their mangled wreckage https://trib.al/aMqL8x6." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The story fails to note that the vehicle was stolen, and that of the occupants, two of the teens that were killed in SUV were wearing ankle monitors, while three had active warrants. Some of the occupants also appeared to be wearing ski masks. wflx.com/2024/04/27/4-t…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
