X community adds a context note to Rep. Cori Bush's post: Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) posted "I just voted NO on H.R. 7024. I cannot justify voting for a bill that provides giant tax breaks to the rich while decreasing the credits that helped lift over 3 million kids out of poverty. I will continue to fight for the full funding our communities deserve." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. H.R. 7024 does not reduce the Child Tax Credit but in fact increases the amount of money claimable by lower income families, increases the total credit size for all in 2025, and increases the number of families who will qualify through a tax year 'look back' provision. washingtonpost.com/business/2024/… congress.gov/bill/118th-con…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
