Odd. The purpose of the test, according to Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Communications Commission, is to make sure the messaging system is working in case a disaster strikes. The test is set to begin at 2:20pm eastern time on Wednesday, October 4th and a message will be sent to your phone." X’s Community Notes added a context graph to the post that currently reads, "By law the system must be tested at least once every three years. The most recent test was in 2021. fema.gov/sites/default/…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts.
