Blaze TV CEO Glenn Beck called the federal government’s role in pressuring social media companies to acquiesce to its censorship demands a“constitutional crime.”
During the Nov. 11 episode of The Glenn Beck Program, Beck was joined by his executive producer Stu Burguiere, and both laid out a blistering rebuke of rampant Big Tech censorship done at the behest of the federal government. Beck and Berguiere both praised President-elect Donald Trump’s ambitious agenda for ending Big Tech-Government censorship under his administration. “This is the most comprehensive thing I’ve ever heard a Republican President ever lay out,” Beck said.
A 2022 video that recently resurfaced on X showed Trump outlining his plan to “shatter the left-wing censorship regime and to reclaim the right to free speech for all Americans.” Trump also vowed that his administration would implement a digital bill of rights, remove bureaucrats involved with censorship, and sign an executive order to ban any federal agency who have colluded to censor American speech.

Beck expressed his disdain for the extent to which President Joe Biden’s administration exerted pressure on Big Tech platforms to censor speech. “Government getting involved in freedom of speech — that’s a constitutional crime,” he said chastising the administration.
Earlier in the program, Burguiere predicted the left’s response to Trump implementing his free speech agenda.“I think a lot of the people on the left and the media will take that as like, oh he just wants to be able to say conspiracy theories cannot be fact-checked, and that’s just not the truth. The truth is that the federal government should have no role in that,” he said
He continued, emphasizing the importance of not allowing the government to infringe on the freedom of speech., “It’s not going to stop ABC News from doing misinformation reporting as dumb as it might be, it’s just going to stop federal money going to the process, which is totally appropriate for a country that has a First Amendment,” Beck said.

However, the federal government did not merely fund censorship efforts. MRC Free Speech America identified nine areas of the federal government that made a mockery of the First Amendment by pressing Big Tech to engage in censorship and encouraging research and non-profit organizations to egg on the social media companies.
The federal government’s involvement in Big Tech censorship was also put on full display following the Dec. 2022 release of the Twitter Files, which exposed Twitter's rampant censorship network in collaboration with federal entities. More recently, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg sent a letter to the House Judiciary Committee expressing his regret for censoring posts about COVID-19 at the request of the Biden-Harris administration.
