Climate alarmist billionaire Bill Gates made a surprising admission about “climate change” that Big Tech has yet to make.
In a Wednesday blog post, Gates criticized the “doomsday view of climate change,” even though he himself has pushed it for decades. While still urging investments in woke environmental projects, Gates confessed that humanity will not go extinct from “climate change.”
Gates fact-checked the opinion that “cataclysmic climate change will decimate civilization,” saying such a view is “wrong.” He claimed that while “climate change will have serious consequences—particularly for people in the poorest countries—it will not lead to humanity’s demise. People will be able to live and thrive in most places on Earth for the foreseeable future. Emissions projections have gone down.”
Unfortunately for many Americans, Big Tech platforms spent years censoring anyone who stated as much. In fact, the Media Research Center has documented numerous examples of this censorship in its CensorTrack database.
In July 2024, Facebook fact-checked Young Americans for Liberty for quipping about the argument that climate change would kill off humanity.
“Globalists soon: 'We need to combat the coming ice age! We need $100 trillion and total government control or everyone will die!'” YAF joked. In response, Facebook claimed the joke was “missing context and could mislead people.”
YouTube, the platform owned by Google, imposed fact-check labels on former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his running mate Nicole Shanahan in June 2024 for simply discussing the topics of climate change and cattle ranching.
In January 2024, Instagram imposed a sensitive filter over Atlas Society’s meme mocking the claim that human beings were fueling an existential climate crisis simply by breathing. The Meta-owned platform also fact-checked The Federalist in August 2023 for criticizing the harmful policies of the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group. These policies include a ban on meat and dairy, justified by the fallacious argument that climate change is an existential threat.
In December 2022, Facebook restricted the advertising ability of Climate Change Dispatch, an outlet that challenges the narrative that climate change is man-made and humans must sacrifice dramatically to reverse it.
