Instagram places a sensitive content filter over a meme about global warming: The Instagram account of the Atlas Society posted a meme that depicted a New York Post article title that read "Humans May Be Fueling Global Warming By Breathing" and below it an image of soldiers who were about to shoot a person, with the caption "It's time to stop global warming...." Instagram placed a "Sensitive Content" warning over the photo that reads "This photo may contain graphic or violent content." In its explanation of the photo, Instagram noted that "This post doesn’t go against our Community Standards, but may contain images that some people might find upsetting." Users must then click a link to continue to view the photo. Instagram has controls for sensitive content, however these controls do not allow users to remove interstitials over posts altogether, only how many of these types of posts they see. According to Facebook, Instagram's sister-company, users fail to click through similar interstitials 95% of the time.
