X censors user's re-post of a Trump post: An X user was censored by the platform after re-posting a message from President Donald Trump. The message that the user copy and pasted into a new post, including Trump's name and handle, concerning crime in Washington, D.C. The post was accompanied by a screenshot of Trump's post, as well as an image showing former DOGE employee Edward Coristine, also known as "Big Balls," after he had been beaten by a group of teens when he stopped them from carjacking someone else. He appeared unconscious and bloody in the image. X claimed the image contained sensitive content and placed a filter over the image. Such filters do not allow users on the mobile app who have the sensitive filter enabled on their profile, the default setting, to view the filtered content at all. On the web version of X, users must click through the sensitive content interstitial in order to view the filtered content. Not only do such filters give the impression of inappropriate content, similar filters have been shown to reduce user interaction with content.
