The chair of the House Judiciary Committee is insisting that the Federal Bureau of Investigation come clean about the censorship tools it may still be using against Americans.

The New York Post obtained a November letter that House Judiciary Committee chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) sent FBI Director Christopher Wray about recent testimony implicating the FBI’s continued coordination of censorship. In the letter, Jordan referenced an October 23, 2024 interview during which an FBI Criminal Investigative Division Analyst who had worked with the Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF) “disclosed that the FITF uses ‘software tools where [the FBI can] search open-source databases about content indicative of criminal conduct.’” The FBI reportedly still uses these tools to flag content for social media to censor.

During the Congressional deposition, the analyst stated that the bureau had been tracking Americans’ election speech on social media platforms but was later banned from speaking further on the topic by FBI lawyers, the New York Post reported. It seems the FBI is suppressing the speech of one of its own analysts to cover up for a larger suppression of speech.

Jordan cited the analyst’s testimony to describe how the FBI uses its database tools “to monitor social media posts by users, regardless of whether the users are American citizens or foreign actors, to search for ‘content indicative of criminal conduct.'” The congressman further added that according to the analyst, the FBI provides tech platforms with such highly specific information as “‘user name and the content’ of the posts.”

“Therefore, we write to obtain additional information in order to understand whether the FBI has or could use this software tool to censor or infringe upon lawful speech, particularly Americans’ political speech,” Jordan concluded.

These database tools and the FBI’s willingness to pass on hyper specific information to social media companies is especially concerning since the FBI gave similar information to tech platforms in 2020 to ensure the platforms can censor the content the FBI objects to.

Notably, Twitter Files part nine revealed that federal agencies, including and especially the FBI’s San Francisco field office, “overwhelmed Twitter with requests, sending lists of hundreds of problem accounts” at a time, and content identified as “possible terms of service violation[s],” flagged for censorship.

The FBI also primed Big Tech to censor the Hunter Biden Laptop scandal before the 2020 election, according to the Twitter Files, the Facebook Files and a 2024 letter from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. An MRC poll even found that over 9 percent of Joe Biden voters in swing states would not have voted for him in 2020 had they known about the scandal, which would have been enough to alter the official result of the election.

Conservatives are under attack.
