When it’s time to report on inflation, it’s almost like President Joe Biden becomes the new “He Who Must Not Be Named” in liberal media circles. Taxpayer-funded PBS failed to mention him or the Democrats even once during an over 7-minute special segment on inflation.

PBS Reporter William Brangham PBS seemingly blamed every culprit under the sun other than Biden and his lackeys on the left for causing the inflation crisis in an Oct. 11 video blandly headlined “The major factors driving up the cost of food.” Apparently, the President of the United States did not cut the mustard for the “major factors” driving up food expenses. [Emphasis added].

Instead, PBS focused on “supply chain disruptions from COVID,” “the war in Ukraine,” “rising energy prices, rising transportation costs, rising labor costs” and even “climate change” as the main causes of skyrocketing food prices across America. But PBS took its propaganda effort even further than that, with one reporter claiming that “there’s some hope” of inflation “slowing” in the U.S.

PBS’s propaganda is transparent, but also effective. It is one of the most influential media outlets in America, with over 215 million people, or 83 percent of American households, watching the network, according to a company impact report.

Despite PBS’s propagandizing, reality soon came to slap the outlet in the face. The Bureau of Labor Statistics released devastating September reports on producer price and consumer price inflation this week. Both reports landed worse than economists expected, with producer and consumer prices spiking at a hot 8.5 percent and 8.2 percent, respectively, on a yearly basis. So much for PBS’s pathetic attempt to get in front of the news and whitewash Biden’s responsibility for the ongoing crisis.

But while government-funded PBS ignored the disastrous effects of Biden’s reckless spending, it couldn’t ignore the overwhelming toll that inflation has inflicted on Americans. PBS itself reported that eggs cost 40 percent more year-over-year, butter costs 30 percent more, and coffee is roughly 20 percent more expensive than last year. Even processed wheat products have risen 20 percent since last year, according to PBS.

But even there, PBS distracted with cover story after cover story to justify rising inflation. For grain prices, it was the “Russia-Ukraine conflict.”

On coffee, “climate change is the culprit,” according to PBS guest and Michigan State University agriculture professor David Ortega.

And on inflation, the enemy, according to PBS, was corporate greed. “Like many consumers,” PBS economics correspondent Paul Solman claimed, “small businessman Baker believes corporate opportunism is also helping drive up prices.”

PBS’s overt bias by omission of both Biden and Democrats in its reporting is no surprise in light of the radical lefties running the station. The network teed up a guest to accuse the GOP Sept. 1 of trying “to attract voters through racism.” And only days before that on Aug. 29, PBS argued that maintaining a national border is “veering towards fascism.”
