Facebook censors obvious satire post: Young Americans for Liberty (YAL), a "pro-liberty organization on America's college campuses," posted a meme image to its Facebook page that showed a headline reading "Study Finds Most Americans Trust Dr Pepper Over Dr. Fauci." YAL added, "Breaking new study." Facebook applied a fact check label to the post calling it "false information." The fact check label referred to one article from Check Your Fact. According to the article, the image was a screenshot taken from a Babylon Bee article without any context showing that it was indeed satire, and that this is "a common way misinformation spreads online." While Check Your Fact acknowledged that some users were able to discern that this was satire, it concluded that "others appeared to believe it." Facebook placed a full interstitial over the image, forcing users to click through the warning message in order to view the image.
