Facebook post from Young Americans for Liberty that contained a screenshot of WHO guidance recommending children not be vaccinated right away for COVID-19 garners fact-check: Facebook's fact-checkers flagged a post shared by Young Americans for Liberty (YAL), a libertarian student group, which contained a screenshot of a World Health Organization webpage that suggested "Children should not be vaccinated for the moment." In addition to the screenshot, YAL's post also included text saying, "The WHO is now recommending that children DO NOT get the COVID-19 vaccine..." Facebook attached a warning label to the post indicating that "Independent fact-checkers" say YAL's post could be misleading to other users. YAL unloaded on Facebook in a follow up post: "The WHO published guidance stating that 'Children should not be vaccinated for the moment.' YAL posted a screenshot, including all the context around the statement & also shared a link to the full WHO post. WHO ultimately stealth edited its language. FB then 'fact-checked' us. The guidance now includes: 'More evidence is needed on the use of the different COVID-19 vaccines in children to be able to make general recommendations on vaccinating children...'"
