The White House

X community adds a context note to The White House’s post: The White House from its official account posted, “Our economy gained 150,000 jobs last months [sic], for a total of 14 million jobs created under President Biden. Bidenomics is growing the economy from the middle out and bottom up – not the top down.” The post included an infographic depicting the average number of jobs created per by by each of the last seven presidents. X added a warning label to the post. The header of the label read, “Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The warning continued, “The graph is statistically accurate but contextually misleading as it ignores the impact of the massive & temporary COVID-driven job losses (Trump) & recovery (Biden). Displaying by month is also a mathematical trick to make Biden’s bar appear even larger by comparison. cnn.com/2023/02/07/pol… politifact.com/factchecks/202… data.bls.gov/timeseries/CES…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system.
