Instagram censors Turning Point Action post: Turning Point Action (TPA) posted a C-SPAN video to its Instagram account of Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg speaking about how "Roads are 'racist' according to Buttigieg and Biden Administration," as TPA's text above the video noted. The comment that the group added to the post read "'Anti-Black and anti-Puerto Rican roads are actually a big problem in America.'" Instagram placed a fact check label on the post that read "Missing Context. The same information was reviewed by independent fact-checkers in another post." When users click on this label, it references two different fact checks. One is from India Today Fact Check, claiming the post is "False," with a summary that read "US transport secretary DID NOT blame racist design for Baltimore bridge tragedy." The other is from AFP Fact Check, concluding the post had "Missing Context," with a summary that read "Old Buttigieg comments on race, infrastructure misrepresented after bridge collapse." Although TPA's post occurred on the day of the Baltimore Key Bridge collapse, the post did not reference the bridge in any fashion, so it is unclear why Instagram applied this fact check label to the post.
