Twitter community adds a context note to Trump War Room tweet: Trump War Room, an official account for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, tweeted, “Ron claims that he’s 'leaning in' and 'winning' on the issues that the establishment 'won’t touch.' But as a congressman, he was a Paul Ryan acolyte who voted to cut Social Security 3 TIMES and raise the retirement age for Medicare and Social Security to 70." Twitter added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "Both President Trump and Governor Desantis [sic] have supported plans to rein in future spending on both Social Security and Medicare. Trump and Desantis [sic] are now both claiming they will not cut Social Security, if elected.” This note included several links to support this assertion. The label is part of Twitter’s Community Notes system. Twitter users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to tweets.
