X community adds a context note to Trump War Room post: The X "war room" account for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign posted "Meet Jaleel Stallings. In June 2020, Stallings was charged with the attempted murder of two police officers during the 2020 riots. @KamalaHarris raised money to bail Stallings out of jail. Kamala Harris is radically liberal and dangerously incompetent." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. A jury found that Stallings had acted in self-defense and that the officers had assaulted him The police officer who assaulted Stallings, Justin Stetson, pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge npr.org/2023/05/10/117…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
