Twitter community adds a context note to Trump War Room tweet: Trump War Room, an official account for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, tweeted, “WOW - @SebGorka leaves DeSantis PAC founder SPEECHLESS when confronted with facts on Ron DeSantis COVID arrests!” The tweet included a video of a NewsMax panel in which Sebastian Gorka made the comments referenced in the tweet. Twitter added a label to the post that read “Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read “The arrests Seb Gorka is referring to were made by local city and county governments based on their Covid ordinances. Governor DeSantis did not implement those ordinances and not only gave those people amnesty but signed a law allowing him to overturn the local restrictions.” A link to an Orlando Sentinel story about the situation was included. The label is part of Twitter’s Community Notes system. Twitter users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to tweets.
