X community adds a context note to Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) post: The X account for Rep. Tony Gonzales posted "Texans didn't claim East Coast Fake Brandon Herrera before and they really won't claim him now. Brandon Herrera in his own words everybody. Viewer Discretion Advised." The post included a one minute Gonzales political ad that included multiple very short video clips of Herrera taken from his podcast that include questionable language. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. 'All of the clips shown in this video have been taken out of context, and are missing the full statements. This is an attempt to slander Mr. Herrera by not using the full videos. You can watch the full videos on his YouTube for context.' ~ previous community note. youtube.com/@BrandonHerrer…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
