X hides headline about JD Vance behind an "adult content" filter: Reporter Tom Nichols posted a screenshot of a headline to his X account that read "JD Vance Appears to Backtrack on False Claim About Haitian Migrants in Ohio. The Republican vice-presidential nominee acknowledged that an outlandish claim he had amplified about Haitian immigrants stealing and eating pets could 'turn out to be false.'" Nichols said about the headline "Hello, this is not what he's doing. He's adding 'it may be false' to insulate himself and making sure he has a fallback position while amplifying the nutty charge. This is a standard tactic to spread a lie: Should it while also adding 'but hey, could be untrue.'" Inexplicably, X placed an interstitial over the screenshot of the headline that read "Content warning: Adult Content. X labeled this post as containing Adult Content." Several other posts were similarly labeled, though it did not appear to be a widespread glitch.
