X community adds a context note to Team Trump postTeam Trump, the official account for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, posted, "Lockdowns. Armed Checkpoints. School Shutdowns. Beach and Business Closures. @Forbes: In 2020, Ron DeSantis issued some of the most draconian Covid restrictions of anywhere in the United States." The post included a video compilation of news reports about the various COVID-19 restrictions placed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. X added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "Misleading. DeSantis consented to federal guidance at the request of the Trump administration later than 30 other states. flgov.com/wp-content/upl… twitter.com/snorman1776/st… thehill.com/homenews/38401… After 29 days, DeSantis began reopening in phases, based on cases and population. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk recently shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will now be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
