X’s Community Notes claims Townhall editor made inaccurate statement: Townhall managing editor Spencer Brown posted on X (formerly Twitter) on August 26, the anniversary of a terrorist killing 13 American military members in Afghanistan, “It’s nearly 8:00 pm and @JoeBiden hasn’t posted about the 13 U.S. service members killed in Kabul on this day in 2021 during his withdrawal from Afghanistan.” Twitter Community Notes added a context label saying, “President Biden issued a statement today honoring their sacrifices...That statement was issued hours before the claim he hadn't done so.” It is unclear, however, if Brown was making a general observation or referring specifically to Biden’s Twitter account. The military reportedly identified the suicide bomber prior to the Kabul attack but the Biden administration failed to take action, raising controversy.
