Facebook "fact check" on a post about Antifa protests is not relevant to the post: A Facebook page made the following post: "'ANTIFA is an idea, not an organization' Meanwhile, here's the organized delivery of supplies." The post also included a video of Antifa/BLM protesters collecting supplies from a U-Haul truck with text that says "We are being lied to. These 'spontaneous' protests are well organized." Facebook slapped a "Missing context" "fact check" on the video. The "fact check" article it referred to was a Politifact piece titled "Fact-checking disinformation about Louisville, a U-Haul and George Soros." The bottom line of this fact check seems to be that the protestors were only collecting supplies from the U-Haul, not weapons. The post in question in this incident and the accompanying video did not mention anything about weapons. The other bottom line of the Politifact piece was that there is no evidence that the U-Haul holding the supplies was backed in any way by George Soros. Again, the post in question here and the accompanying video had no mention at all of George Soros. This is another case of Facebook using very loose and generic keywords to apply a fact check that has absolutely no bearing on the post. Given that Facebook itself has admitted that applying such a fact check prevents around 95% of people from clicking through to view the article, this is a blatant case of viewpoint censorship.
